Open College Network (OCN)
DLDC has worked with OCN since 2001, accrediting over 2000 learner portfolios in a wide range of subject areas. For many, this has been their first certificate of achievement and credit must go to our members in recognising this success. There are 11 regional OCN offices; DLDC is a member of OCN East Midlands Region, which is based in
DLDC can support your organisation throughout the whole process; course content, course administration, assessment and quality assurance procedures. In addition, we offer an annual programme of tutor development opportunities to help tutors understand the OCN processes and prepare them for delivering accredited learning.
OCN has a well developed database of units from which organisations can search for those most appropriate for their learners. These range from Entry level, which is pre GCSE to Level 3 which equates to A level standard.
On successful achievement, learners receive a certificate of accreditation. Learners can use their certificates to:
- Provide a record of personal achievement
- Access further training programmes
- Show to employers/training providers when applying for jobs, promotion or training
- Gain entry to University Access courses and University certificates
Units can be delivered over a period of time, enabling learning to take place in short, easily manageable pieces, which can then lead to full qualifications.
Please see attached the list of units available.
