Current Projects
What follows is a summary of all of our current programmes. These fall into two categories:
Investment: Programmes through which members are funded to deliver activity
Capacity-Building: Programmes by which the Consortium offers services in developing VCS staff and volunteers or supporting members in developing their capacity to deliver training activity.
Investment
The Consortium has started referring to its funding streams as ‘investment’ purposefully because it implies bringing in money and adding value through a social return. This represents the service provided by the Consortium better than ‘funding’ or ‘resources’.
There are two strands to our ‘investment’. Firstly, funding programmes that we manage on behalf of an external body and for which members can apply. Currently, these are:
Secondly, opportunities for members to contribute to the delivery of services for which the Consortium has successfully bid. Currently, these are:
Capacity-building
Similarly, our capacity-building programmes have two strands. Firstly, programmes by which the Consortium co-ordinates VCS delivery of training for VCS staff and volunteers. Currently, these are:
Secondly, programmes supporting VCS organisations to increase their capacity and capability to deliver training opportunities to VCS staff, volunteers and clients. Our current programme in this field is:
Skills Pledge & Organisational Needs Analysis
Derbyshire Learning & Development Consortium are part of the East Midlands Skills Partnership which has been awarded funding to help Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations sign up to the Skills Pledge, undergo an Organisational Needs Analysis and create an action plan for the organisation to work towards.
We will help sign post the organisation in the direction of potential funding sources and the information collected will be used in future bids to try and bring relevant funding into the sector for workforce development.
